I used to get an annual evaluation that included specific actions on how inclusive I was of some minority group. Any minority group. They really didn’t care what I was involved in, so long as I could prove I was supporting a minority group in some way.
That’s white guilt. I would argue every year that I don’t care what color skin a person has, I don’t care what they’re sexual orientation is, I just want them to their job well.
Anything else is judgement…if I include someone on my team because they’re black or Asian or gay, and not because they do the job well, then I’m essentially saying I don’t think they are capable of doing the job well (because they’re black or Asian or gay or whatever).
