Boeing E-6 Mercury (formerly Hermes) is an airborne command post and communications relay The E-6B conveys instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines (see communication with submarines), a mission known as TACAMO (“Take Charge And Move Out”).

This one showed up this afternoon.

Boeing E-3 Sentry is an American airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft developed by Boeing. E-3s are commonly known as AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System). Derived from the Boeing 707 airliner, it provides all-weather surveillance, command, control, and communications.

Boeing KC-46 Pegasus is an American military aerial refueling and strategic military transport aircraft

Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is an American long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber and is capable of carrying up to 70,000 pounds of weapons, and has a typical combat range of more than 8,800 miles without aerial refueling.

Zephyr – uses sunlight to charge a lithium-sulphur battery during the day, which powers the aircraft at night – designed for use in observation and communications relay.

This one came off a carrier in the Tampa Bay
